Dr. Beau Holley, DVM

Dr. Beau Holley, DVM

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Holley became the owner of AHAWR in 2020. His love for animals started as a teenager and thru undergrad, Dr. Holley worked as a veterinarian assistant at various clinics around the Bowling Green area including the Animal Hospital at West Ridge. While completing his undergrad at BGSU, he worked with Dr. Underwood in the herpetology lab. He attended the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2007. After graduation, he began his career at the Animal Hospital at West Ridge. His medical interests include internal medicine and surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Holley enjoys spending time with his wife, Aimee, 4 kids, Erika, Morgan, Tessa, and JD. He enjoys time at the lake, on his boat, and any outdoor adventure. He also enjoys time spent traveling.

Dr. Dave Ernsthausen, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Dave Ernsthausen, who along with his wife Linda, opened Animal Hospital at West Ridge in 1998. He completed his undergrad at the Ohio State University in 1984. He went on to attend the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1994. After graduation, he worked at Horizon Animal Hospital in Galion, OH where he practiced both large and small animal medicine, including exotics. Dr. Dave’s medical interests include orthopedic and reproduction health. Outside of work, Dr. Dave enjoys spending time with his family, attending basketball games, and hiking in Arizona.

Dr. Theresa VonAlmen, DVM

Dr. Theresa M. VonAlmen who joined our practice in 2019. Dr. VonAlmen completed her undergrad at the University of Findlay in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Animal Science, and a minor in Chemistry. She went on to attend the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2015. Dr. VonAlmen was in emergency medicine prior to joining Animal Hospital at West Ridge for 3 years. Outside of work, Dr. VonAlmen enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and 2 children. She also enjoys running with the Toledo Roadrunners Club, ice skating, traveling, and caring for her 12 chickens and 2 labrador retrievers.

Dr. Ashley Carlisle, DVM

Veterinarian

 

Dr. Ashley Carlisle earned her undergraduate degree from Otterbein University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Equine Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a biology minor. She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2017. Dr. Carlisle then completed a 1-year internship at Aloha Pet and Bird Hospital in Melbourne Florida. After completing her internship she went on to work in small animal private practice until she joined Animal Hospital at West Ridge in the spring of 2021. She resides with her two dogs, both Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, named Blitzen and Rory. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, kayaking, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends.

 

Dr. Tyler Williams, DVM

Veterinarian

 

Dr. Tyler Williams was born and raised in southern Wisconsin. His maternal grandparents were farmers, allowing for regular interaction with animals of all sizes throughout his childhood. This led to involvement in 4H and FFA, where he realized that he wanted to become a veterinarian as early as grade school. After a pre-collegiate job at the vet clinic in his hometown, Dr. Williams went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (2004) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (2008) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His area of special interest is promoting longevity through preventive care and proper nutrition. Outside of work, he is busy spending time with his wife and daughter. He is an avid sports fan (GO BADGERS!) with a strong interest in health & fitness so he can usually be found watching a game or exercising via playing all manner of different sports, weight training, and every so often an obstacle course or triathlon

Registered Veterinary Technician

Cindy has been at the AHAWR since 1999. Cindy wants to stress to pet owners that not everything you see on the internet or TV marketing is true. Be sure to check with your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns. Cindy takes pride in her knowledge of food and nutrition and enjoys educating pet owners. Cindy enjoys the relationships she has formed with patients, coworkers, and pet owners. Her favorite quote is, “Don’t wait for things to get better. Life will always be complicated. Registered Veterinary Technician

Heather has been a member of the Animal Hospital at West Ridge team since 2004. Her advice to pet owners is please take time to research the right pet for your family. Too many pets are re-homed and develop behavior issues for not being the right fit. Heather’s favorite area of veterinary medicine is assisting in surgery and using anesthesia. She loves the team we have and how well everyone works together. Heather’s grandmother used to say, “Life is short, smile while you still have teeth.”

Kate has been with the AHAWR since 2010. She wants to share with pet owners that there is no such things as a free pet. Her areas of interest are dental cleaning/extractions and surgery. Kate says her favorite quote is, “Not my circus, not my monkeys.” Kate enjoys working in a fast pace environment and likes helping pets feel better again.

Lindsey joined the Animal Hospital at West Ridge team in 2018. Her advice to pet owners is do your research before adopting/buying a pet: know what your pet will need, socialize, train and get them used to being handled, play with ears, touch feet, look in their mouth, and get them comfortable with you, others, and other animals. Lindsey enjoys surgery, lab work, and blood draws. Her favorite part about working at AHAWR is the people she gets to work with and the pets that enjoy coming to see us. She believes in the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Katie started at the Animal Hospital at West Ridge in 2020. Katie’s specific area of interest is anesthesia and client education. Her advice to pet owners is always ask! No question is a dumb question! Her favorite quote is, “A dog is the only thing on Earth that loves you more than you love yourself.” Katie loves being part of the community and helping with people of the community with their pets.

Customer Service Representative/ Registered Veterinary Technician

Rachel was added to our team in 2020 though she has been working in the field in some capacity, ranging from a RVT to office manager, for 16 years. She enjoys working at AHAWR for the community and the pet parents as well as the kindness and humor of the team. Rachel would like to share this with pet owners, the life of a dog passes quickly. Time flies in general. They provide more for us than us to them. Take note from their brief journey; dogs live for the day, the hour, even the moment. Take the long walk, enjoy the big hugs and give lots of (safe & healthy) treats. Rachel enjoys advocating for all patients in her care; with a passion for providing pet parents the most up-to-date education on Fear free training applications, behavior, senior wellness & preventative care. Linda, along with her husband Dr. Dave, started the Animal Hospital at West Ridge in the spring of 1998. Having been at AHAWR for so many years, friends have become clients and clients have become friends. It is difficult to not be able to “fix” pets and to experience the goodbyes and grief of our friends and clients. She enjoys the client interactions and relationships that have been built over the years. Caitlyn was added to the Animal Hospital at West Ridge team in 2020. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine including different types of surgeries, products, and prevention. Caitlyn advises pet parents to do the research. It is important to know what products you are using. She really likes the environment and team aspect of working at AHAWR. Kelsie started with AHAWR in 2018. She advises clients to keep your pets up to date on their vaccinations and preventative medications. Kelsie likes the teamwork atmosphere at AHAWR. Brianne joined the AHAWR team in 2021. She completed her externship with us while finishing her veterinary technician degree at Stautzenberger College. While finishing school she had interest in surgery, lab, and overall being hands on. Her advice to owners is to do your research on the breed your adopting to be able to help benefit their life!
